“Research Center for Strategic and Development of Sichuan University” is a specialized agency for strategic and development studies. Under the background of overly emphasizing on theoretical research and details of operation both in China and abroad, while ignoring the construction of vision and development strategy, it took management science and systematic science as the basic theoretical support, marketing and culturology as the synergistic theory, learned from advanced experience and model of enterprise management for strategic and development research.

The Center, affiliated to Sichuan University, is a specialized agency mainly engaging in theoretical research, strategic planning, strategic design, strategic promotion and management consulting services. The Center accepts the commission of business, government and social groups for strategies and development issues, provides with consulting, correcting, researching, management planning and training services. It aims to develop regional strategies and development subjects, enterprises and social organizations of the transverse projects, provides advice and management services for social and corporation the basis of scientific research, helps businesses, governments and community groups make development strategies ,deals with crisis events and provides policy recommendations for the government.

Since the founding of the Center, it has organized experts and scholars to carry on a large number of studies of popular, important and difficult problems of Sichuan province and the West regional economic social development, and has undertook a large number of projects having social effect and bringing enterprise good performance, also has published a group of academic monographs and academic papers having high academic level and large effect, and has successfully hosted the “2007 International Conference on Strategic Management” in April 2007.

The center currently has a qualified research team, of which the director is Professor Jie Xiaowen. Of all full-time and part-time researchers, there are 6 professors, 11 associate professors and 12 doctors. It has sponsored national research over 100projects, provincial research projects and transverse projects, won many provincial and ministerial level Scientific Research Excellent Achievement Prizes, and published more than 10 academic monographs and more than 100 academic papers.

The center will be strictly in accordance with the requirements of the enterprise development strategy to help enterprises plan the overall, long-term and basic problem in development of the company.
